Singapore Hit Awards 2008
so yesterday was singapore hit awards. hmm. i guess that 101 buck wasnt as worth it as in was supposed to be. but yeahh. still enjoyed it of course! WU YUE TIAN is like so freakkking cool and their live performance just makes people want to jump and sing along! "wo bu shi zhen zheng de kuai le~~~~" :DDD and im really really really loving JADE LIU LI YANG. she's sooooo handsome! and cool! and her voice is so powerful. and all the good things you can think of! :DDD she's my motivation currently (: damn freagggginggggg cool. haha. and yoga was damn cute. haha. there was one part like the whole stadium laughed because he gave the blur look! haha. then he still asked, "what are you all laughing at?" HAHAHA. yeahh.. it was a great performance overall. but still.. hmm didnt think its worth the price. should have just bought the 58bucks seat. sigh. haha. but oh wells, it was great hearing these people live :D and camwhoring the whole time was great (:

MUSIC
Music as a career. what is my viewpoint?
well obviously i support it. otherwise i wouldn't be in DMAT. but then many say: music is just a hobby, a leisure activity. its hard to earn from it. or rather, you need to be real good to make money out of it. there are many many many people who study music in this world. but how many of them actually make it big? its unlike things like business, where you can venture and many will do big in different areas. but music is just different. you do well, or you dont. and only those at the top are those that are considered good. and also, its about luck. some can dedicate their entire life into doing music but dont get anything much in return, while others can just get spotted and given the chance to progress in that area. i guess its just that way.
why do i get intimidated when i hear that so many people of the same age group as me doing great in the music industry? because its competitive? because im afraid i wont be as lucky as they are, or as good as they are? its not about not having confidence in myself, but its the fact. how many people attempted to do music but failed? isnt that a very scary number? it just lowers all the hopes of trying to do well in it.
however, enjoying music is important. even if i dont get earn money with it, or even if a can make big bucks out of it one day, i know i wont regret. because music is a passion. what matters most is not what you get out of it, but the process. so why care if i want to make it a career or just for leisure at this point? because at least i know im enjoying what im doing. okay maybe not so much of the sound engineering part, but the performing part of music (:

gosh. and i really am quite tired. no. very tired. kept seeing, hearing and saying the wrong things today. worse still without even realising it until i was reminded.
today class ended at 12. but i didnt want to go home because was going to meet geok and zhihui at 7pm. so i stayed in school with keith, dingchao and wendy. talked alot today too. with dingchao regarding MUSIC. i think dingchao is a person whom.. you'll find him kinda weird at first, then slowly you'll think he's damn funny, then you'll start seeing the insights he has. he really knows what he's doing and remains firm on his stand despite how people think differently. haha. so we kinda had a good chat today about music. and of course i learnt more new stuff. comparing the differences between classical and pop music, its complexity and richness.. made me think alot. yeahhh. "always playing similar things and not attempting to improve after years, does that really reflect my experience?" dingchao said this. i rephrased it luh. haha. i really gave it a good thought, it was a reminder for me to keep learning to improve. nice, thanks dingchao (:
then after that, keys classroom closed, so wendy, doreen and i went to FC6. again, talked ALOT. "sharing session" as wendy would term it. haha. yupp. so today is kinda reflecting day for me. i thought alot, think alot, and thinking alot. so in the end, stayed back from 12 till about 6. almost talked the whole time. soar throat sia. hahah. yup.
then night time was our first meeting with our NOISE mentor, jessica. she's really pretty and hot man. omg. who said talented people have no looks. she's one fine example. haha. although she specialise in chinese instruments, which makes no link between us, but im quite keen to know what the next few months would be like working with her :D haha. yup yup. and im back from jasmine's birthday dinner :D today is really damn long day. left house at 7am to reach school at 8 to prepare. haha. then a durian cake, 2 balloons and our presents for celebration with the whole dmat during lunch time. it was damn screwed :/ sigh. haha. and SORRY elliot! for the duriannnns. haha. then after school went to have steamboat at amk. decided finally after a damn long time. haha. was quite shiok. at least i felt it was. haha. coz it then started to rain halfway and it was the right atmosphere to talk. so we decided all of us tell each other one of our secrets. which is to be kept only and ONLY among the 12 of us. haha. any leakage=disappointment :p and reached home now, at 1145pm. tmr lesson at 8, which means waking up at 6 T_T

yesterday was the last day of the first week of school. so far so good, but just dunno why feeling damn tired. probably because im too used to slacking. haha.
so school yesterday was quite retarted. after acoustical science from 8-10, had a long 5 hour break because there was no music theory. so yeah.. then came back to school for the briefing for STAR. damn cute. is like dmat damn enthu. other courses like DDM have like i think thrice the number of students from dmat, and the number of people who joined STAR from DDM is i think half of dmat :p haha. then went to watch movie with KAY. CONNECTED finally :D haha. must say it was a good show, worth the price of a friday night movie. even if we got the first row seats :/ yeahh. haha.

and the past three days made me damn exhausted. and disappointed. and demoralised, and discouraged, and all the descriptive words you can find in the dictionary that describes my bad mood.
today, church in the morning. i guess thats the only place to gain back my sense of security and confidence. then went for lunch with mama at lot1, and headed down to riverwalk. auditions for solo was.. okayyy but not that good. but oh wells. then went to central to chill till its time to go down to chc at jurong west for the band auditions. it's screwed. well, just screwed. i guess it did nothing but demoralise me further.
friday was alright, went out with yating, the bestie which i havent seen for a real long time, geok and kath. hwa chong open house. so we were like treated as sec4 students being brought around pulled from booth to booth, cca to cca. haha. yup then quite liked their performing arts showcase, esp the choir and string ensemble. and the band which yating is in of course (: haha. mm, took some photos:
